Astrophyllite is a rare and unusual mineral whose structure speaks for itself. Its golden crystals often form radiating clusters within the rock, resembling distant constellations or the flashes of supernovae.
📖 Origin and Composition
The stone’s name comes from the Greek words “aster” (star) and “phyllon” (leaf/mica). It is a mineral of the brittle mica group with a rich chemical composition that includes titanium, manganese, and niobium. An astrophyllite “sun” looks particularly striking against the contrasting snow-white rock — albite.
