1. The Fear of Being Different
Society, thoroughly steeped in esotericism, still regards practising Magic as bordering on madness.
My answer: nobody knows how everything here works. Attempts at rationalisation are the feeble efforts of a frightened mind. Yes, humanity has always benefited from being a herd, but not in the New Aeon. Today, there is a demand for exceptional people, for those who are ready to be different.
2. Difficulty Understanding Inner Experience
An esoteric practitioner often cannot find the words to describe what they do. Sometimes I, too, stumble over my words when introducing myself: a tarot reader. This awkwardness is not shame about my interests, but an attempt to squeeze an experience into one inadequate word.
My answer: you do not owe anyone likability or an explanation of the nature of the universe. Find your people and be happy.
3. A Threat to Your Status.
What do you do if your achievements are recognised and well known: you are a lawyer, a doctor, or an estate agent? They will find out that I practise witchcraft, and that will be the end of me — my clients will not understand.
My answer: people will always find something to dislike. Some will dislike your weight, others your tattoos, and others the shape of your eyes. It is impossible to please everyone. For me, for example, knowledge of esotericism would be a plus. And I would happily visit a tattooed hairdresser or a doctor skilled in Tarot. Set yourself free within.
4. The Fear of Ridicule
You can become an object of ridicule at any time. Just 50–70 years ago, thin, elegant lips were fashionable; now plump pancakes are all the rage. And what about people’s views? They change.
My answer: play your own game. Your inner confidence will be contagious, and other people’s doubts are a mirror of your own. Working on yourself is the responsibility of every deeply sensitive person.
5. Impostor Syndrome
You doubt your own methods. Unfortunately, this happens when you work in the realm of the unmanifested. Sometimes it is very difficult to identify what triggered the changes that occurred. Did the Magic work, or were you simply lucky?
My answer: you will have to learn to Believe. For a Magician, faith is like a magic pill: it answers every question and removes every symptom.
And really, my dears, play! We will all grow old and die anyway, and it is entirely up to us what we will remember at the end of this incarnation: a vibrant, eventful life, or fears and insecurities.
I choose the first!!!!
